demonstrates a desire to understand nature and our intuitive relationship with it. It is a conern that forms a strong undercurrent across the breath of his diverse and striking work. After graduating from COFA with a degree in design, Rosenbaum became interested in the Ice Hotel, which he came across while overseas in Sweden. He contacted the hotel and what followed was, as he describes,"an intense working experience" wherein Rosenbaum was made the assistant to the cheif Architect and leared the entire structure of the hotel from the ground up.

Having worked extensively in ceramics prior to the Ice Hotel held him in good steed. Rosenbaum says that working with snow is similiar to working with clay; both are easily transformed and moulded. Large blocks of ice on the other hand, like those used in the construction of suites and sculptures for the Ice Hotel, were an entirely new experience. A conceptual artist by instinct, Rosenbaum attempts to create "work that hasn't been done before". images of his wholly designed and hand constructed Ice Hotel suites show stunning rooms backlit ice that explore the organic cycle of nature and water. Rosenbaum is currently exploring a new medium, photography, and hopes to extend his creativity to the field of glass, which he views as a natural progression from working with ice. Rosenbaum credits the COFA School of Design Studies with feeding his passion "to work with the widest range of materials and design concepts possible".
